Marmalade

I am what may be described as a prolific quilter. One of my favorite things to do is join in on quilt-alongs. This year I decided to take on the meta quilt-along that is going through all the quilts in @southerncharmquilts book, A Life with Quilts. The Sassy Granny is a traditional pattern, but I shook things up by using this mod fabric from Ruby Star Society called Stay Gold from Melody Miller.

I decided to go with the Marmalade pantograph from Urban Elementz for the quilting motif. This panto combines a traditional feather, with some fun & whimsical swirls and dots. That just seems to fit this quilt perfectly!

Typically, my aesthetic is for lush, yummy texture with my quilting. However, this quilt keeps pushing me outside my box! I chose gold for my top thread from Glide. The back of the quilt is the bold Metallic Shell from the Stay Gold line. In order to not compete with the pattern, the bobbin thread is a neutral cream.

This has become my favorite quilt from pattern to finish. If you have a special quilt that needs a loving touch, head to my work request form to get started! I'd love to work with you for your next project.
