Moulin Rouge

This lovely butterfly quilt is called “Taking Flight” and is soon to be released from @parkersquiltshop. This was one of my recent pattern tests, and it came out fantastic! Parker’s pattern was easy to follow, with very clear step-by-step diagrams. If you’re looking for a quilt pattern to make this summer, give this one a go!

If you create a Taking Flight quilt, I offer 15% off quilting services in my shop for this pattern with code TAKINGFLIGHT22!

These sweet butterflies are made with Tula Pink’s True Colors fabric. This is playful and bold, and I loved making a scrappy binding to match!

On most quilts I prefer a thread that will blend into the quilt top. However, there was a lot of white space in this quilt, so I decided to make the quilting part of the show! I chose a light gray thread on the top to help the stitching POP a little more than usual. You can see in this photo how the white thread on the back (right half of the photo) blends just a bit more than the gray thread on top.

For the pantograph I chose Moulin Rouge from Urban Elementz. This is a pantograph that is just so much fun to watch quilt out.

Thread color is a personal preference. Some folks love a bold color, and others are just looking to add subtle texture. This is your call when you book your quilt with me. I have over 35 thread colors to select from, and I’m happy to advise you if you like. When you’re ready, head to my work request form to get started! I'd love to work with you for your next project.
